As we spring towards Easter, Cwm Hafren’s new season starts and our other parks, Orleton Rise, Lucksall and Oakwood Valley, re-open for the year! Whether you’re looking for a jam-packed family adventure, slow paced retreat, or anything in between, our holiday home and residential parks are the perfect base. From Easter fun to rolling hills, our Hereford and Mid Wales parks are perfect for the whole family, all ages, from excited grandkids to grown-ups.
During Easter at Lucksall, school is out, and the grandkids need to be entertained. At our parks, we host our classic Easter trails and nature scavenger hunts to help keep the young ones busy, but there are plenty of other activities to do in Herefordshire while they stay with you over the 2-week break.
During the Easter holidays, 5,000 children, parents, grandparents and guardians flock to this educational “CountryTastic” show to meet a wide range of animals and to learn more about the countryside. It’s a great visitor attraction for animal lovers and kids who can’t help but get their wellies muddy. Tickets are limited and unavailable on the day, so if you want to visit this small breeds farm park, make sure you book in advance!
National Trust parks like Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, The Weir Garden, and Brockhampton feature themed Easter trails, and are always a brilliant way to spend a spring afternoon. Most National Trust sites in Herefordshire run trails from late March through mid-April, costing £3.50 per child in addition to standard admission. The Weir Garden is hosting an Easter Archaeology Trail throughout March and April, which includes bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Each National Trust hosts their own activities and trails, so there are endless outdoor adventures.
All over Herefordshire, there are family-friendly activities for a buzzing Easter weekend. • Hampton Court Gardens near Leominster re-opens at the end of March and offers an Easter Trail sheet featuring a maze, castle-themed play area, and riverside walks. • Children’s Craft Workshops offered by Make-it Happen in Hereford include themed sessions such as plushie-making and chocolate pocket workshops.
