The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway is offering a unique Gin & Whisky Tasting Train Experience that promises breathtaking scenery while sampling gins and whiskys from Henstone Distillery’s Master Distillers. Partnered with the award-winning Henstone Distillery of Oswestry, this unique train ride is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or enjoy a decadent holiday treat.

The Journey

The train steams out of Llanfair Caereinion (SY21 0SF) for a scenic, sixteen-mile adventure through the rolling hills of Mid Wales. This two-hour round trip boasts stunning views while enjoying carefully crafted drinks. A master distiller will be on board to guide you through the tasting experience, sharing their knowledge and expertise.

What’s Included

• A Nostalgic Ride: Settle into the comfortable vintage carriages of the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and soak up the charm of a bygone era.
• Welcome Refreshments: On your outward journey, you’ll be welcomed with a “long drink” and nibbles to set the mood for your train ride.
• Tasting Session: On the return trip, your education into the Henstone Distillery range will commence, as the Henstone Distillery Master Distiller will lead you through a tasting session featuring four of their spirits.

Henstone Distillery owned by Chris and Alexandra Toller was established in 2017 with the aim of producing high quality spirits with a small batch twist has continued to evolve and expand winning awards along the way.
